About

Hello there. I am Nick, a web developer who loves to tinker with surf on these series of interconnected tubes. Well, first, welcome to my corner of the internet. I'm not sure how you stumbled onto this page, but I'm glad you're here. I could've found out how you arrived here by diving into Google Analytics, but I don't install any of that on my site. Fast loading experiences if what I am here for, and I don't need to do any data collection. Maybe in the future I'll re-evaluate, but, today, we're keeping this tight. Alright, enough preaching.

I grew up north of Seattle and moved to Southern California after graduating from Northwest University. I moved up north with my wife in the lovely Santa Barbara area, which has been nice to transition into a smaller town feel. The outdoorsi-ness of the area and overcast vibes reminds me of my childhood home. Plus being able to hop outside and go for a hike has been wonderful.

I bought the first four letter domain in my life; nle3.com. I typically do not like numbers, prefixes, or any special characters in domain names that I purchase. But this one represents me. And I'm proud of the fact that I was able to snag it.

Enough personal information. Take your shoes off and enjoy perusing around. You can find out what I'm up to, like what books I've read and are reading, or who some of my friends are.

Setup

For play, I rock a M1 Macbook Pro. I dropped it once, so there is a nice dent in the corner. I have a 37' ultrawide monitor that is my daily driver, both personally and at the office. I absolutely cannot live without Sublime Text open on my desktop or laptop and use it on the daily. In fact, this website was built with it. It's a beautiful piece of functional software.

Now

Right now I am working for MatterHackers, as a Senior Software Engineer. The work is not mysterious, but it is important, and I couldn't be more pleased to build and iterate on the systems and workflows being developed there, and leveraging AI whatever way I can to be more effective.
